Japanese Star Wars: The Force Awakens Trailer Shows New Footage

For those Star Wars faithful who thought we'd seen the last footage from an airtight film franchise, think again.

Dog bless Japan and their entertainment industry. For those Star Wars faithful who thought we’d seen the last footage from an airtight film franchise, think again. The Japanese trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens is out and it’s a doozy.

As evidenced above, we’re going to get quite a few emotional punches to the gut. From an isolated Rey (Daisy Ridley) coming into the crosshairs of Kylo Ren to meeting Finn (John Boyega), the trailer also features additional footage from a TIE fighter attack, cross-checked with invading Stormtroopers led by Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie).  Moreover, we get to hear Lupita Nyong’o’s character on voice over. Raise your hand if you got chills from her closing lines!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in theatres across the United States on Dec. 18th.
