Welcome to part two of YouTubers You Should Be Watching.

This week, we’re focusing on educational vlog channels. Now, I don’t think that “education” only includes academic subjects. The ability to learn from others is one of the hallmarks of shared experience. I can learn about graphic design from one vlog, makeup from another, and astrophysics from a third, and it’s all learning. But in this post, we’re going to stick to thought-provoking, education-focused channels that specifically exist to impart knowledge to the viewer. With that said, let’s get to it.

Sexplanations is a show hosted by Lindsey Doe, or Dr. Doe, who has her doctorate in human sexuality. She hosts a weekly show talking about, well, sex. Her web show doesn’t stop there, as she covers topics on sexuality, gender, reproduction and so on. Her content is fun, informative, and to the point, and her use of gender-neutral language and her compassion makes this channel a safe space for understanding your sexuality and body, as well as those of others.

Asap SCIENCE is a show hosted by Mitchell Moffit and Gregory Brown, a gay couple who create fast-paced science content paired with marker drawings of the narration. Their videos tend to go by viewer request, as well as by topics that are trending in the world. Their view count reaches into the hundreds of millions, and their content is both weird and incredibly interesting.

Finally, CGP Grey is well known across the internet for his animated informational videos on just about everything. From science to government, from history to the economy, you’ve probably seen at least one of these videos in a classroom or in a presentation. As someone who studied political science, if you want to understand the weird, wonderful and sometimes awful bits of American government and voting systems, go check him out. The only downside with this channel is that his content is pretty sporadic, as he is a physics teacher, and it takes him about a month to create a video.

I’m sure there are hundreds more channels, and I would love to hear about all the awesome corners of the internet you are in, so please leave recommendations in the comments.
