In the Black Panther comics Shuri eventually success her older brother and becomes the Black Panther and the new ruler and protector of Wakanda. Shuri is an important comic book character as she provides young women of color around the world with a super hero who they can relate to and look up to.
Captain Marvel:
Captain Marvel first made an appearence in Marvel Superheroes 13 when she was introduced as the friend and colleague of a superhero named Mar-vel. In the comic Captain Marvel who is also known by her birth name Carol Danvers was originally a member of the United States Air Force before she gained her superpowers and became Captain Marvel. One of the most powerful superheroes in the Avengers universe. Recently Captain Marvel was portrayed in her own feature film by Oscar winning actress Brie Larson. Which was a significant event as Captain Marvel was the first female superhero to get her own feature film. As at the time even Black Widow had not got her own feature length film.
