Planning a DIY Spa Day For Mom In 5 Easy Steps

Moms – they are the often-unsung heroes of this whole pandemic saga. They have been there, slavishly chugging away with the housework, the homework, and the work-from-home work. When do moms get a break?

If you are thinking it is time your mom got a break, but you are worried that sending her to a real spa for the day is not safe yet, why not opt for a DIY at-home spa experience instead?

Spa It Up

Having an at-home spa day does not have to mean compromising on quality or worrying about being disturbed.

Sure, it might mean ignoring the toothbrushes on the back of the sink, and you might need to take the laundry out of your bathroom before mom has her spa day, but on the whole, a nice relaxing few hours uninterrupted is exactly what moms need.

Convinced to give it a try for mom? Here are all the steps you need.

Step One: Plan In Advance

Just like booking yourself in for a spa day, it is best to plan mom’s experience well in advance so that she knows she will not be disturbed and can relax in peace and quiet.

If you have young kids in the house, plan to take them out for the day so that mom can just indulge in the (very rare these days) peace, quiet, and solitude for the day.

Step Two: Gather Your Materials

You will need all of mom’s lotions and potions. Face cream, hand cream, body butter, oils, serums and do not forget the perfumes.

If you are really clever with this bit you will head on over to Scent Magic and sign up for perfume on subscription to receive samples of perfumes every month, perfect for that authentic spa experience.

Step Three: Set The Scene

This is where your preparation will all pay off!

Make sure you clear the bathroom of unwanted clutter, take out the dirty laundry, move the toothbrushes and the hairbrush that has not been emptied for 3 months; give the place a bit of a spring clean before mom’s spa experience.

Step Four: Set The Mood

Now your bathroom is clean and tidy, set the mood with some potpourri, a few magazines, maybe get an essential oils diffuser going, and do not forget the relaxing music playlist that you have been gathering on Spotify.

Think about how to make this absolutely perfect, try having nice warm and fluffy towels available, and even turning the lights down low so as not to dazzle poor mom in the bath!

Go crazy with the bath and fill it with bath bombs and dried flowers. Do not worry about all of those flowers being a mess, this is about relaxation much less than it is clean hair and skin!

Step Five: Let Mom In

Once you are ready and your plans are in place, let mom into your little surprise or secret and invite her to her very own DIY at-home spa day.

She may want you to join her in her very own spa, or she may not do, either way, she will be perfectly relaxed!
